Interactive Train Quilt by Mrs. Kate Carpenter
Designed by Will Carpenter and made by his mom, Mrs. Kate, this playful quilt was created for Elias Carpenter. (See his name spelled in black road?) With plenty of train track and road, this quilt also includes a couple of hiding pockets and a tunnel. The boxcars have different opening features so the child can practice snapping, velcro, clasp, and tying skills. Each car is designed to hold a "fabric cookie" (animals, farm products) that can be interchanged in creative play. The quilt even has a caboose and 4 children for even more fun. The quilt was designed so that a train station round house toy fits over IndiNANApolis Station. Sir Topham Hatt is embroidered on the quilt, too, so he can supervise the playtime. Choo Choo! This quilt took me about 8 months to make. Machine pieced, hand embroidered, hand quilted and hand appliqued. Glory to God!
