Then the time had finally come for Mrs. Kate Carpenter, the headliner, to come to the stage! She brandished her guitar like a seasoned veteran of folk music and showed everyone that it is okay to have some fun. People laughed and sang along. She had much audience participation as she called various students up to help with songs. Highlights of the night were her songs: "Coon in the Can," "Armadillo," "Florida Rain," "Lima Beans," and "Clean Old Men." Kate Carpenter put on an amazing, unforgettable performance that night in front of almost 100 people. Her set list was about 1 hour, but she still left everyone hungry for more. The weather was perfect, the sunset was beautiful, and her music rang in ears all weekend as many could not help but sing the songs they heard. Many people said that the "Sigma Folk Festival" was the best activity all year, proving that Sigma never ceases to put on a good show.

"Kate
is a versatile singer whose voice ranges from a clear folk style to blues and

has known. Her humor and childlike telling of family stories in song captures the
children and the adults find themselves singing along. Every one of her
concerts is a beautiful experience."

writing songs—that’s why they’re the best!"
