"Mrs. Kate is an enthusiastic and musical library promoter!  Her songs and audience participation had our eyes, ears, and hearts rocking!  All ages had fun with her colorful and educational program.  Many of the songs that she sings and instruments that she uses in her program are available for purchase.  We remember her programs and try to have her perform each time she's in our area."

Joanne Lize, Youth Supervisor, Venice Public Library (FL)

Thank you so much for coming to the Mims/Scottsmoor Public Library.  We all had such a great time!  You make learning such fun!  Your wonderful songs, stories and puppets fascinated everyone, from the very young, to the not so young.
Sandy Chafin, Mims-Scottsmoor Public Library, FL

"Your interaction with the audience instantly created a festive mood that continued throughout the 3 performances.  Your summer programs consistently reflect the FLYP theme.  Mr. Click Click, the mouse puppet, unexpectedly appearing from the newspaper, effectively added an element of surprise, exciting the children..  The children enjoyed being apart of the show by helping Mr. Click Click select a new section of the "Florida Flash" to sing.  The audience responded well to you and your talented assistant, Page McClellan, quickly mimicking her movements to your easy-to-sing songs.

Your songs contain a warm and positive message, whether it is about picking up trash or receiving  lots of hugs and kisses at family get-togethers.  It is understandable why you have faithful fans and immediately win over first timers.  We truly appreciate your showmanship.  Once again, you've entertained both children and adults of Flagler County with your heartwarming stories and songs about love of Florida and family.  We extend our many thanks and look forward to seeing you next year."

Theresa Owen, Stephanie Abrantes, Erica Catenacci-Haug, Flagler County Library

"We enjoyed your visit so much!  Our young audience and their parents loved your toe-tapping, finger-snapping presentation.  Our junior volunteers loved the chance to be your backup group.  Thank you for involving them in the action.  What a positive, jolly afternoon of fun.  It's refreshing to see such an unusual blend of reading promotion, fun Florida facts, and pure rollicking entertainment.  Encore!  Encore!!

Mimi Hall, Children's Librarian, New Smyrna Beach Regional Library

"I can't believe it's been a whole week since you performed in Ft. Pierce.  What a wonderful, high-energy show!  I enjoyed every minute of it - and I think everyone else did too (kids AND parents).  The lady next to me was a Grandma who had intended to just drop her grandson off and run to the store.  Once she saw you interacting with the kids, she decided to stay, and at the end, she said she was SO glad not to have missed such great entertainment.  I'm so glad I was able to catch your show!"

Julie Piraino, Marine Biologist, Ft. Pierce, FL

On behalf of the St. Lucie County Library System, I would like to thank you for a most enjoyable and entertaining afternoon.  We were without a doubt blessed by your professional performance.  The most gratifying aspect of working with children is seeing their enthusiasm and joy when the participate along with the performer singing, dancing and laughing.  We especially liked the song you composed using our summer theme "Read Around Florida."  Your "Hug-a-Bug-a-Boo" was a great ending to a wonderful program.  Young and old were buzzing with enthusiasm as they left that day."
Veronica Lacopurra, Childrens' Librarian, Port St. Lucie

"What a wonderful performance!  You warmed everyone with your enthusiasm and love for what you do.  I'm so thankful that you were able to share at our library.  It was just terrific.  We had a nice group of families and everyone enjoyed it.  I was so happy that we had some older people attend also.  They enjoyed the fun as much as the children."

Sheila Kaufer, Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Public Library, Venice, FL

"We enjoyed the songs and stories very much.  Everyone was willing to participate in the songs and motions!  We appreciate the energy you put into your performance.  You are a very talented performer and we hope to have you back again."

Beverly Schulz, Youth Services/Outreach Librarian, Columbia County Public Library

"The kids at our library and I thoroughly enjoyed your performance this summer.  I still find myself singing some of your songs to myself, especially Anhinga.  Thanks for a great entertaining show."
Mary Friers, Youth Services, Satellite Beach Library

"Barely a day since you stormed into the Ormond Beach Public Library and the accolades are pouring in.  I love Florida, as you do, and find you can really get through to a crowd with music and interaction.  With fun and creative verse and jive melody, you have taught our young patrons about the drip-dry anhinga, creatures of the swamp and our fragile ecology.  With the beautiful sound of the rain stick and the roar of thunder from outside the window, we all sang your lilting song of the rain.  Long after you packed up and left, one could hear "Hug-a-Bug-a-Boo" being sung, whistled and hummed throughout the library - a pretty nice reminder of Mrs. Kate Carpenter, folksinger, songwriter & storyteller."

Dorothy Davis, Librarian, Ormond Beach Public Library

"The children were really involved in her show -- singing, making hand motions, and learning listening skills; the most wonderful thing about it--they were all smiling!  The adults were involved as much as the kids; we all had a delightful experience.  We were indoors, but the walls seemed to "fade away" and outdoors was called to mind as we all listened to such songs as "Florida Rain," and "Livin' in Okefenokee."  I would heartily recommend Mrs. Kate Carpenter for any program that you are planning."

Jean Caldwell, Head, Children's Department, DeBary Library, FL

"On behalf of the Putnam County Library System I would like to thank you for the five dynamic performances you presented as part of our summer library program, "Read Around Florida."  Your stories and songs reflected a true appreciation for Florida and contained images that were familiar and friendly to the children.  Each performance was held in high esteem by the children, adults, and library staff in attendance.  The feedback which I received was so favorable that I would like to have you return to Putnam County to entertain us again soon.

Belinda Delzell, Children's Librarian, Palatka Public Library, FL

"You were one of those special performers who could capture not only our older children, but our preschoolers as well.  the messages in your songs were both inspiring and very appropriate,.  We especially liked the one using our summer theme Start @ the Library & Go Anywhere."

Nick Burke, Union County Public Library, Lake Butler, FL

"It was interesting to see how the audience grew as you performed.  By the time you sang Hug-a-Bug-a-Boo, a large crowd had gathered, and all were eager to dance, have fun, and learn about the benefits of hugs.  Crack a Book was a great song to perform in a library setting and was a favorite of the staff whose job it is to promote reading.  I am looking forward to working with you again."

Theresa Owen, Children's Coordinator, Flagler County Public Library, Palm Coast, FL

"Kate wonderfully entertained our audience of young people, ages six and up. Her enthusiasm was infectious!  Besides storytelling, Kate combines her imaginative themes with unique music.  Kate not only entertains you, she also educates and inspires you."

Paul M. Stella, Youth Librarian, Jacksonville Public Libraries, Brown Eastside Branch

"Thank you so much for performing at our "International Migratory Bird Day!"  The enthusiasm you exude in your performance is truly infectious, and attendees were raving for days about your performance.  With such an incredible turnout and with such high praise for the performance of the Florida folksinger, not to mention our own enjoyment, we look forward to having you back!"

Alyssa Gilbert and Beth Joiner, Youth Services, SE Branch Library, St. Augustine, FL
