Festivals & Parks

Mrs. Kate is a has been performing at events throughout the Southeast for several years.  Her strong point is an interactive show that brings all ages, from preschoolers to grandparents, together in a heartwarming family experience. Here are some comments from happy presenters:

"We booked "Mrs. Kate" to headline the Children's Stage at the 2010 Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival in Moulton, Alabama.  This is a major regional festival with an attendance of 15,000.  Her original songs and interactive show mesmerized all ages, from preschool to grandparents.  Carpenter accompanies herself on the guitar and instantly engages her audience to sing along with easy-to-sing-lyrics.  Parents were delighted when their youngsters to to "be stars" on the stage and participated in the family-friendly show by doing puppetry and song actions, making sound effects and playing the rainstick.  "Mrs. Kate" even wrote a special new chicken song for our festival and entertained children around the festival grounds with her whimsical chicken puppet during her free time.

With the cooperation of the Lawrence County School System, we made arrangements for her to sing for approximately 3,000 elementary and middle school children.  "Mrs. Kate' motivated the students from 9 schools with her engaging "Crack a Book" show.  Feedback from students, administrators, teachers and parents was extremely enthusiastic!  The children were encouraged to become lifelong readers and enjoy researching in the library to gain new information.  "Mrs.  Kate' inspired them to be "doers," not watchers.  She motivated them to graduate from high school and college.  She also encouraged them to discover their unique gifts and talents, and to use them to make this world a better place by serving other.  Without hesitation, I would recommend "Mrs. Kate" Carpenter's show to any festival or school district looking for family-friendly entertainment and character-building motivation.

"Hans Christian Andersen once said, 'Where words fail, music speaks.'  Kate Carpenter's joyful message never fails.  With words and melodies she brings us visions of rocking chairs and porch swings, where the living is slow and easy.  Lima beans and homemade bread, armadillos and fire ants are all part of her life songs. Her variety of rhythms and vocal techniques gives every song a new sound.  Kate Carpenter is a seasoned, polished performer.  She is pure, wholesome entertainment and our Earth Day Festival audiences are looking forward to the return of Mrs. Kate and her family-friendly shows."

"Your performance was GREAT!  The audience had a wonderful time and parents were heard commenting "My son/daughter is so shy--I can't believe he/she is singing/dancing along!"  Your enthusiasm and spontaneity made  an impression on everyone--children and adults!  Again, thank you for making the morning of our Rose Petal Jam one to remember.  Please feel free to share this with others who are looking for homespun, lively and entertaining family fun."

"I highly recommend Kate Carpenter as a folksinger/musician.  The young at heart and families with children can enjoy a clean indoor or outdoor concert with Kate.  Kate is full of excitement and has a smile with every verse. I highly recommend Kate to all groups."

And from an audience member:

"This year at the Florida Folk Festival, we were singing with Mrs. Kate at a jam and absolutely loved her.  She is just not for kids, either that or John and I haven't grown up yet.  We both thoroughly enjoyed her honest songs and enthusiasm."

June and John Rogers, Tampa, FL, 2010

"Mrs Kate" (and her music) has tons of energy, great messages about friendship and nature, etc, and her programs are always interactive with the audience members.  Owen and I have seen her several times at the Florida Folk Festival and even have one of her CD's.  Owen LOVES it!"

Wren, a mom from Brevard County, 2010
